FAQ | I Made an App

Submitting Apps

What sort of apps can be submitted?

So long as it’s truly an indie or solo project, isn’t inherently explicit, hateful, or illegal, literally anything.  Games, Utilities, Productivity – if you made it, and you want to send it to us, we’ll have a look at it!

I have a publisher. Can I submit my app?

Maybe.  If your publisher has less than three clients, or less than 100K USD yearly revenue, yes.  If you have any other questions, please ask!

This is not my first app/game/sticker pack. Is that OK?

Of course! if your application fits our requirements for indie/solo, then it’s free to be submitted!  Just because you’ve used a publisher in the past, doesn’t exclude your application.

Some things are looked at on a case by case basis, however.  If you have a large number of featured games/apps, or have a history of successful releases, we may ask for more information.

Review Proccess

How do you review applications?

Honestly – it’s purely subjective.  We base our reviews based on our experience with the application.

Will you still post my app if the review is bad?

Unless you explicitly tell us otherwise, yes, we absolutely will. If you ask us to remove the review, we will consider it on a case-by-case basis.  We also reserve the right to post any reviews we write regardless of how we came about the application, be that from a submission, or through our own pipelines.

Can I have my review removed from your site?

Maybe, we handle these on a case-by-case basis.  Please contact us for more information.

You can't legally bad-mouth my application!

So long as we aren’t acting out of malice, we can.  Our goal with I Made an App is to help the public find apps that they otherwise wouldn’t find – and avoid those that aren’t worth their time.  We are a review site and we review all applications fairly.

How long does the review process take?

It depends on our current work load – but usually within a week or so.  If you have a launch date you want to reach, we may be able to come to an agreement or expedited process.  We reserve the right to charge for this service.
