Cube Orbit is a 3D real-time tactical color match game. Plan ahead to forge awesome color combos. Make split-second decisions before your angle fades and the clock expires. Adjust your tactics to defeat increasingly complex levels with four alternating mission goals.
Enjoy cubical aesthetics full of colors, effects, and a fitting 8-bit sound design.
Cube Orbit is fully challenging without being frustrating, 8-bit beautiful, doesn’t pester with ads unless you choose to see them, compelling, randomly challenging, and compelling. In short, it’s one of the best puzzly arcade games we’ve played yet.
While playing the game, you have a certain time limit to clear one of several goals depending on the level – clear a certain number of blocks, find special cubes in the center, gain energy, generate combos – and you complete these by changing the colors of the blocks of your floating space cube. You’ll know what color you’ll be dropping next based on the color of the fiery nebula blobbing in the background (a perfect example of user interface design). Match three or more of the same color, and you’ll clear that section.
There are various powerups that appear on the surface of cubes, such as more time, axis rotation, or extra energy (to name a few), and clearing a cube with a power up or effect will activate it.
There are over 150 levels in this completely free! game, with new power ups, new goals, and new layouts changing consistently between levels. You are not penalized for losing with interstitial ads, but you can choose to watch an ad for ‘free’ power ups, should you feel you need them. The music (We’re the Resistors by the skilled Eric Skiff) is appropriate for the genre and subtle. Cube Orbit is the perfect storm of playability, replayability, and value. We would have no problem paying to play this game.
A phenomenal inclusion to both app stores built with the ubiquitous and powerful unity engine, Cube Orbit is not to be missed. Get it today!
